The Women of Siler Patty Baucom Scholarship Application

Patty Baucom.JPG

The Women of Siler have given scholarships to college students from Siler for many years. In 1988 the idea for the scholarship was first conceived and distributed. The scholarship is named in memory of Patty Baucom— a wife, mother of two, a teacher of DECA at Parkwood High School, and an active member of Siler Presbyterian Church. Patty was the first chairperson of the Presbyterian Women Scholarship Committee. Patty was in the process of acquiring a second degree from Winthrop University when she died in an automobile accident on January 31, 1995. Education was something that she strongly believed in and we trust that this scholarship honors her. It is our great hope that this scholarship will continue to help future Siler students for many years to come.

Current members of Siler Presbyterian Church planning to attend college full time are eligible to apply. Each student is eligible for one scholarship award.

Please send a copy of latest high school or college transcript (official transcript is not necessary) with application to the Women of Siler at the church office.

Applications should be received by June 10th. Total scholarships may not exceed costs of tuition, books, room and board.
